    As a matter of fact both Horton and Sungenis made an incorrect presentation of Fitzmyer´s view on justification. Please read his commentary on Romans (pages 118ff) and you will see that he does not reject the catholic view on the meaning of dikaioo, the effective sense of this verb. As he himself wrote: "even Melanchton admitted "Scripture speaks both ways" . that is in the declarative (=protestant) and the effective (catholic) sense". Some protestant NT exegetes accepts this fact also.
