Michael S. Horton is J. Gresham Machen Professor of Systematic Theology and Apologetics at Westminster Seminary California, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of White Horse Inc, home to its namesake the White Horse Inn radio show and podcast, Modern Reformation magazine, The Campaign for Core Christianity, and The Global Theological Initiative.
He is the author of more than 30 books, and he serves as a minister in the United Reformed Churches. He lives in Escondido, California, with his wife and four children.
With postdoctoral studies as a Research Fellow at Yale Divinity School, a Ph.D. from Coventry University in partnership with Wycliffe Hall, Oxford University, an M.A.R. from Westminster Seminary California, and a B.A. from Biola University, Dr. Horton is currently J. Dr. Horton is the recipient of many prestigious honors and awards, including Christianity Today’s “Book of the Year” for Theology/Ethics and WORLD’s top 40 books of 2006-2008. He has been a Visiting Professor for various institutions, including Ligonier Academy and Reformed Theological Seminary. He was previously President of The Alliance of Confessing Evangelicals and Christians United for Reformation.
Dr. Horton currently serves as an Associate Minister in the United Reformed Church (URCNA) and has served on various Committees of the URCNA. He has several professional memberships, including the American Academy of Religion, the Evangelical Theological Society, and the Royal Institute of Philosophy.
A prolific writer, Dr. Horton has written nearly 200 articles for Modern Reformation, a plethora of essays in published volumes, articles in peer-reviewed journals, and internationally renowned books that have been translated in 6 foreign languages. He has delivered over a dozen scholarly papers and has been consistently asked to speak for general audience lectures around the world. He is the author of the award-winning books The Christian Faith: A Systematic Theology for Pilgrims on the Way, Christless Christianity, People and Place, and has most recently authored the two-volume work Justification.
