John Lennox on the Story of Joseph

According to Oxford mathematician John Lennox, the account of Joseph’s rise to power in the latter part of Genesis—which leads to the climactic moment in which he reveals himself to his brothers and publicly forgives them—“is one of the most moving scenes in all the world’s literature.” On this episode, Shane Rosenthal talks with Professor Lennox about the implications of this amazing story, as well as other important scenes from Genesis which he has written about in his book, Joseph: A Story of Love, Hate, Slavery, Power and Forgiveness.

Show Quote:

The seed project is my description of a thread that starts in Genesis and goes through the whole Bible. After the devastation brought into the world by sin, God chooses Abraham to found a nation that would be a vehicle of God’s grace and blessing to the world. But it also allowed him to be privileged as the physical progenitor of a sequence of people that would eventually bring us to the messiah, the true seed of Abraham, the seed of David, who is the Lord Jesus himself.
