White Horse Inn: Conversational Theology

Defending Your Faith

Is Christianity true? What does faith have to do with evidence and arguments? Often in the face of this question many Christians feel that it is inappropriate to offer arguments for Christian truth claims. Rather than presenting arguments or evidence, many Christians feel it is more important to express how Christianity has helped them. They point to Christianity’s usefulness. But the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 15 argues that the truth of Christian claims rests on the historical facts of Christ’s life, death, and resurrection. If Christ did in fact rise from the dead, then Christ was God as scripture claims. If Christ did not rise, the apostle reasons we are still in our sins. To be a Christian is to believe in an historical person. If Christ did rise, then there are arguments and evidence. On this episode of White Horse Inn our usual hosts will discuss the resurrection of Jesus and the historical evidence available to anyone who can obtain a copy of the bible to examine for themselves.
